Exciting times

The development of our Canara Farm project continues to gain momentum, as this morning saw the arrival of our custom poly tunnels, these will be constructed over the course of the next few days and then we can start planting. We also have grown some fantastic Organic Purple Sprouting it is available in 500gm bags & we believe it is a far superior product to the standard in stock very tender, 100% edible....

New product arrived this morning.

Making an appearance in our fridges for the first time today were these very interesting Long Black Winter Radish, or known by the French name Gros Noir d’Hiver. It dates in Europe to 1548, and was a common garden variety in England and France during the early 19th century.[12] It has a rough black skin with hot-flavored white flesh, is round or irregularly pear shaped, and grows to around 10 cm  in diameter, it can be grated or sliced, eaten raw or cooked.  ...

Fantastic new produce

We had some fantastic fresh produce arrive in the fridges the last couple of days, from the Rungis market we had Spanish Blood Oranges & Baby Endive as the photographs show these products look absolutely stunning. For the first time ever we saw the appearance of White Chantenay Carrots which have already proved to be very popular with the customers that have ordered them, they have a milder carrot taste and hopefully will become a main stay in our fridges for the season. Whilst we all patiently wait for the Cornish Asparagus season to begin in a couple of months time it is worth considering the Mexican asparagus, they are very fine stems and have great colour in the tips.        ...

Fresh Arrivals for St Piran’s Day

As today is St Piran’s day it seems appropriate that we saw some fantastic Cornish produce arrive in the fridges this morning. New to stock in this fantastic Cornish Rhubarb – as it is a young crop it is still quite short (around 6-8 inches) but it has a beautiful deep red colour.   We also had our first delivery of locally foraged (from a top secret Cornish location) Wild Garlic, the smell is absolutely amazing.  ...
