Cornish Asparagus season.

As the 1st of May approaches (the official start of British Asparagus season) we are excited to announce that we now have Cornish Asparagus from Tregassow Farm available. Tregassow Farm 200 acres just outside of Truro, is owned operated by John and Jenny Keeler, the Keelers are the largest growers of asparagus in Cornwall and Tregassow Farm asparagus is one of the most sought after crops of aspargus in Cornwall.

The Keelers reputation as growers of high quality asparagus has come from over 10 years experience perfecting the art of growing asparagus, which has become a profitable niche crop for them. Asparagus is a difficult crop to grow, and requires a significant investment in time, resources and money. Crops of asparagus are not ready to be harvested until the third year of planting & to harvest spears, you have to wait until they’re about 12cm long and remove them with a serrated knife, cutting them off 7cm beneath the soil.

We would love to see how this fantastic product is being used on your menus so please tag us @fruitsales in pictures of your asparagus dishes and we will share them with the rest of our followers.
