Making an appearance in our fridges for the first time today were these very interesting Long Black Winter Radish, or known by the French name Gros Noir d’Hiver. We had some fantastic fresh produce arrive in the fridges the last couple of days, from the Rungis market we had Spanish Blood Oranges & Baby Endive as the photographs show these products look absolutely stunning. For the first time ever we saw the appearance of White Chantenay Carrots which have already proved to be very popular with the customers that have ordered them, they have a milder carrot taste and hopefully will become a main stay in our fridges for the season. As today is St Piran’s day it seems appropriate that we saw some fantastic Cornish produce arrive in the fridges this morning. New to stock in this fantastic Cornish Rhubarb - as it is a young crop it is still quite short (around 6-8 inches) but it has a beautiful deep red colour. We also had our first delivery of locally foraged (from a top secret Cornish location) Wild Garlic, the smell is absolutely amazing. ...
